Wendy Williams was reportedly taken from her New York assisted living facility by ambulance after throwing a handwritten note out of her window, pleading for help. The New York Post revealed that Williams’ note simply read, “Help! Wendy!!”

Authorities received a call for a wellness check around 11:15 a.m., shortly after the former talk show host tossed the note from her fifth-story room. Law enforcement sources reported that she was later seen waving her arms while talking on the phone. Eventually, Williams exited the facility silently, accompanied by police officers who helped her into an ambulance.

Williams, who has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, has been staying in the memory ward of the facility while contesting her court-ordered guardianship. However, a psychiatrist at the hospital where she was taken stated that her mental capacity remains intact. According to TMZ, she underwent a psychological “capacity test” at Lennox Hill Hospital, scoring a “10 out of 10.”

Williams has openly challenged her guardianship, previously telling TMZ in a phone interview, “I am being held in a prison” and “not allowed” to leave freely. The test results are expected to be reviewed in court.
