Karachi: A two-day anti-polio vaccination drive in 34 sensitive union councils of Karachi will commence from tomorrow (Friday).

According to the details, The Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed for improved monitoring mechanism to ensure that the identified children may not miss the opportunity under any pretext.

Earlier, Anti-polio Drive has been commenced in different cities of the country today.

Focal Person to Prime Minister on polio eradication Babar Bin Atta said as many 8.5 million children under the age of five years will be vaccinated anti-polio drops during the campaign.

Babar Bin Atta said that the drive has been initiated in 29 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four districts of Punjab and six districts of Sindh and 0.9 million kids will be vaccinated anti-polio drops in Baluchistan, he further stated.

According to details, the polio campaign, which has been suspended for four months across KP, including Peshawar, is being resumed all over the province from today.

A new polio campaign is being launched simultaneously in thirty-nine districts of the province. The polio campaign has been inaugurated in the outskirts of Mashu Khel.

All polio staff and lady health workers have been summoned for the campaign and the government has devised a comprehensive plan for the security of the polio teams.
