India’s veteran Congress leader and former home minister P. Chidambaram has said that India has lost Kashmir.

Chidambaram said during a Tv interview that we have almost lost Kashmir as no democratic country can keep an entire population under blockade.

The congress leader said that by carrying out fundamental changes in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP government has committed ‘constitutional desecration’.

He said the Modi’s government claims about the peace in the Kashmir Valley today is nothing but a ‘deceptive calm’.

He suggested that “the first step to resolving the Kashmir issue is to engage the people there in a dialogue and an engagement in a bilateral dialogue with Pakistan.”
