President Donald Trump said the US will not bear the bill for Prince Harry and Princess Meghan’s security as reports come out that the couple had come to the US from Canada.

He said in his recent tweet that he was “a great friend and admirer of the Queen and the United Kingdom”. He clarified that “They must pay!”

However, the couple had made it clear that they had no plans to ask for publicly funded security in the US.

An international news source says that Harry and Meghan had moved to Meghan’s home state of California after the coronavirus outbreak.

They will formally get free from their senior royal titles on March 31 and will no longer carry responsibilities on behalf of the Queen. However, the arrangements will be reviewed after a year.

The couple said in a statement came out through a spokesperson that “The duke and duchess have no plans to ask the US government for security resources. Privately funded security arrangements have been made.”

Both Harry and Meghan have spent much of this year on Canada’s west coast.

Note that the Canadian government had announced last month that it would stop providing security assistance to the family “in keeping with their change in status”.

US media said that they moved again last week at Los Angeles are where Meghan was raised.
