The Trump administration has suggested that China Telecom should be banned from operating in the US. The US threatened that China’s telecom company was making “substantial and unacceptable” national security and law enforcement dangers for the US.

The international news source stated that the Department of Justice said that its executive branch recommendation to the Federal Communications Commission – which authorizes US telecommunications licenses, was composed of the claim that China is allegedly involved in “malicious cyber activity” against the US. It also fears that China telecom was helpless to exploit, affect and control by the Chinese government.

The US Justice Department also claims that the Chinese Telecom company had made wrong statements about its cyber-security practices and the “nature” of its US operations.

John Demers, assistant attorney general for national security, said: “Today, more than ever, the life of the nation and its people runs on our telecommunications networks,” “The security of our government and professional communications, as well as of our most private data, depends on our use of trusted partners from nations that share our values and our aspirations for humanity.”

However, China Telecom has denied the claim. It said in a statement, “The Company has always been extremely cooperative and transparent with regulators. In many instances, we have gone beyond what has been requested to demonstrate how our business operates and serves our customers following the highest international standards.”
