The Punjab government has developed Qeemat Punjab app to fight price hike and profiteering and of the primary items in the province. The Qeemat Punjab App will also aid in improving the quality of food items offered to the consumers.

The launch of Qeemat Punjab app received great response from the people. Customers were of the view that the app will resolve the issue of quality food and home delivery.

Majority of the people who have used the application said the provincial government has taken a great initiative to provide quality food at their doorstep on reasonable rates in the shape of Qeemat Punjab app. People can register their complaints related to prices or quality of things delivered.

The application has been developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board with the sole purpose deliver food items at the doorstep of people in a short span of time.

The application has been launched in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Multan and met with an overwhelming response within  a short span of time. A large number of people downloaded the app and used it.

In the first phase a total of 46 items including vegetables, fruits are offered in Fresh Online order form. The application is especially useful for people and housewives who cannot go to market for shopping of food items. Apart from this it is also useful for those people who wish to avoid traffic jams etc.

In order to place an order on the Qeemat Punjab App, a user is required to select the Fresh Online tab from Qeemat Punjab app, select City and then select the food items from the list enter the desired quantity. The receipt will appear on the screen of the users’ mobile phone. The shipping details and location is also required to be set from the map.

The app only offers cash on delivery (COD) mode of payment. User can views the order status in scheduled orders and also orders view order history.

To control prices and profiteering by the merchants, this Qeemat Punjab App was initially launched on April 23, 2019 received an overwhelming response and has been downloaded by 600,000 + users across Punjab.Azfar Manzoor Chairman PITB said the district governments are wsing this app to keep check on prices, home delivery of orders as part of a test project started in Lahore, Islamabad, Multan and Rawalpindi.
