Decision on Hajj will be taken by mid of Ramadan

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor ul Haq Qadri said that decision on Hajj 2020 will be made by mid of Ramazan.

According to the details , the minister said that govrment of Pkaistan is constantly in a touch with the Saudi Hajj ministry officials on this matter and currently the Kingdom authorities had barred them from signing Hajj arrangements deals.

Noorul Haq Qadri further said that the Kingdom is analyzing the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Saudi authorities have different options for allowing the pilgrims 2020 Hajj proceedings.

He said that the quota for other countries could be reduced to 10 percent except Saudi Arabia and Gulf region.
The minister stated that after consultation with Pakistani government Saudi government will take any decision on hajj matter.

Noorul Haq Qadri said that in the entire Islamic history the proceedings of Hajj remained suspended wholly or partially for 40 times.

He said he feels that Hajj could be performed if the situation of the pandemic improves.

It is pertinent to mention here that Saudi Arabia has asked Muslims to wait for more clarity regarding the coronavirus pandemic instead of making travel plans for Hajj.

Dr. Muhammad Salih bin Taher Banten said, “We’ve asked the world not to rush with regards to Hajj groups until the path of the epidemic becomes clear, keeping in mind the safety of pilgrims and public health as a priority,”

“We have coordinated with the Ministry of Health an inspection tour of hotels that were used for health isolation to ensure that all services and care are provided to pilgrims,”

The Holy ritual of Hajj is likely to begin in late July. However, coronavirus pandemic and lockdown in Saudi Arabia have created questions regarding the mass annual Muslims’ gathering.
