Schools are closed but still parents are paying heavy fee?

All educational institutions will remain closed even after 1st June 2020. However, teachers serving in private schools are not given salaries.

Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmoud had conducted an Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference on Wednesday. In the online meeting, officials exchanged their thoughts that educational institutions should  not be opened from 1st June.

Schools, universities, and other institutions have been  shut from the mid of March as Coronavirus cases had started appearing in Pakistan. Several private institutions have begun collecting fees and taking online classes as well as online exams. However, news had come out that teachers serving in private schools are not even given salaries. This is unclear where the fee is going if teachers are not being paid.

Note that Sindh Minister of education Saeed Ghani had said today that all private schools are obliged to pay salaries to the teachers.

The Sindh High Court has suspended the provincial education department’s directives to the private educational institutions for a 20-percent reduction in the tuition fee of April and May because of coronavirus pandemic. The court had announced the decision as private schools had challenged the Sindh government’s amendments.

According to details, Ministry for Federal Education and Professional Training on Friday had announced that they will take action against private schools of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) over non-issuance of salaries. News had come out in mid of April 2020.
