Paragraph 66 of high treason case detailed verdict against former military ruler General retired Pervez Musharraf drew huge outcry.
The specific portion that reads “We direct the Law Enforcement Agencies to strive their level best to apprehend the fugitive/convict and to ensure that the punishment is inflicted as per law and if found dead, his corpse be dragged to the D-Chowk, Islamabad, Pakistan and be hanged for 03 days,” drew quite a lot of reactions and condemnation by legal experts and analysts.
However, the verdict, penned down by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth, sentenced Musharraf to death.
What Fawad Chaudhary said:
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry aid some people with questionable knowledge and credibility have become judges.
Although He said people who are attempting to play with fire don’t know that they can get burnt by that fire.
Fawad added it is not new that people do not learn lessons from the history.
Furthermore He said that institutions are also raising questions over the judgment.
Sirajul Haq’s view
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq said Pakistani nation and army are not two separate entities.
Furthermore Haq said the nation has great respect and love for the army.
Ali Haider Zaidi
Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Haider Zaidi commented on how it ‘is ridiculous to say the least’.
Moreover, “This is way beyond the boundaries of religion, law & logic.
This judge has made the whole judiciary controversial with this barbaric judgement.

Federal Minister of Railways termed the verdict as illegal and immortal.
Farogh Naseem
Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem told federal government has decided to file a reference against Justice Waqar Seth for his observation in paragraph 66 of the case.
However he said “He has written that we direct all law enforcement agencies to arrest Musharraf and punish him according to the law”
“He has further written that if he is found dead, his corpse be dragged to D-Chowk and hanged for three days,”
Moreover he added “I do not understand what need the judge had to give such an observation.”
ISPR
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor termed verdict ‘void of humanity, religion and civilized values’.
Moreover the verdict, especially the words used in the written order, transgressed humanity, religion, culture and any other values.”
