Earlier this week, Anti Terrorism court granted interim bail to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s nephew Hassaan Niazi in Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) case.

Hassan Niazi appeared with his lawyer for interim bail. Hassan Niazi named in PIC’s outbreak and vehicle fire case.

December 11 marked as on of the darkest days in history when lawyers lashed PIC, as a result seven heart patients died due to chaos.

Paramedical staff ran for safety while leaving them unattended at the ICU as scores of people donning black suits, wearing neckties stormed the province’s largest cardiac facility.

Police registered two cases on a range of charges, including terrorism and murder, against more than 250 lawyers who ran riot.

Saqib Shafi Sheikh filed first FIR on behalf of the PIC with Shadman police station, he nominated 21 lawyers including Lahore Bar Association (LBA) General Secretary Malik Maqsood Khokhar, Vice President Ijaz Basra and LBA presidential hopeful Rana Intiza.

The case registered under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) Sections 322, 452, 353,186, 354, 148, 337-H (2), 395 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Later in the day, at least 52 lawyers detained during rioting .

Prime Minister Imran Khan has already ordered an inquiry.
