Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed vowed that the railway employees will be made permanent after the court lifts stay order.

Sheikh Rasheed addressed a press conference at Risalpur here on Wednesday (today).

He has also promised to increase pay scale of railway employees till June 30 after increase in profits.

The minister claimed that the number of passengers hiked up to 100 million and investments in the railway section could increase the pace of development of Pakistan.

He said that the mega project, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had restricted to railways.

He highlighted that ML-1 project possesses utmost importance in the development of the country.

The minister further said that politics exist in the railway department and labour is himself an enemy of his colleague.

He added that the ministry will take further steps to improve the functionality of the railways.

In December last year, Sheikh Rasheed had hinted to increase perks and benefits of railway employees.

He said that he will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan for the consideration.

Sheikh Rasheed said that he will request PM Imran Khan to increase perks of Grade-1 to Grade-16 railway employees.

He said that the ministry has also decided to run a train from Raiwind.

Earlier in October, Tezgam train, which was on its way from Karachi to Rawalpindi, caught fire near Tanori Station Chak no. 6.

At least 71 people lost their lives and dozens other had wounded fter 3 bogies of Tezgam train caught fire.

Rescue teams arrived at timely basis and moved the injured to Liaquatpur hospital.

Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed blamed the passengers for bringing stoves into the train.

He said that the railways was not at fault.

The coach where the cylinder blasted was booked by the Taleeghi Jamaat’s men.

They boiled eggs on the gas stove to have breakfast when it exploded with a huge blast.

Sheikh Rasheed announced financial aid for Tezgam train victims

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had announced financial assistance for those killed and injured in the Tezgam train accident.

An amount of Rs15 lakh had announced for the bereaved families and Rs 3-5 lakh announced for the injured.
