After Sindh, the fear of coronavirus has started to haunt Punjab as well the provincial government of Punjab has decided to take a number of measures, including the closure of Murree, by enforcing section 144.

According to the details, Section 144 was implemented in Punjab at a high level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary Punjab.

The meeting was attended by all the Administrative Secretaries and Commissioner  while other Divisional Commissioners and RPOs participated through the video link.

Chief Secretary Punjab Major (R) Prime Minister Suleiman Khan has constituted the Coronavirus  Crisis Management Committee for the continuous monitoring of supply of goods and prevention of storage in the province amid coronavirus outbreak.

The Chief Secretary said that it is the government’s first responsibility to ensure the safety of the people and the availability of goods to them.

Administrative officers should take stern action against those who hoard items, face masks and senitizers, and do not show any leniency to the perpetrators, he added.

He directed that the Federal and Provincial Government’s directives be implemented to prevent the Coronavirus so that people were protected from the outbreak.

It is to be noted that the Corona Crisis Management Committee is comprised of nine members who will be headed by Special Secretary of Interior Iqbal Hussain.

The committee will convene meeting at 11 o’clock on a daily basis, according to the instructions of the Chief Secretary, who will be responsible for monitoring the overall situation of the Coronavirus throughout the province.

The Committee will also work to prevent the storage of food items as well as monitor the supply and demand of essential items.

The Committee will also monitor the actions taken under Section 144.

It should be noted that the Coronation Crisis Management Committee will be obliged to present the report to the Chief Secretary on a daily basis of patients in quarantine and isolation centers, high dependency units established in hospitals.
