Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan along with DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar held a joint press conference here on Friday.

Prims Minister’s special assistant said that Federal government has a consensus with provincial governments and  are working together to protect the nation from the coronavirus pandemic adding that National Command and Control Centre will act as a nerve center against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

During the press briefing DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar has lauded the role of media and said that media’s rols is very important and crucial in confronting against the disease.

DG ISPR also paid homage to valiant doctors, nurses, paramedics, security forces and law enforcing agencies who are fighting from the front against the COVID-19.

Major General Babar Iftikhar reiterated that for fighting against the Pandemic of coronavirus  Pakistan Armed Forces are utilizing their all resources.

Earlier, Federal Minister Asad Umer and DG Operations and Planning NCOC Major General Asif Mehmood Goraya were briefed the Prime Minister about the latest situation of the killer disease, measures taken thus far and future course of action for containment efforts.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa was also present during the Prime Minister’s visit.

It is to be noted that National Command and Operation Center is nerve centre to synergize and articulate the unified national  effort against COVID-19, and to implement the decisions of National Coordination Committee on it.
