KARACHI: Educational institutions will open in the province as usual on Wednesday (Tomorrow), said the Education Department Spokesperson.
It is pertinent to mention here that the provincial government did not make any announcement about holiday in the province including Karachi on Monday but a number of educational institutions in Karachi on their own announced holiday today due to expected heavy rainfalls.
Heavy rains are forecasted for Karachi and other districts in Sindh from August 28 to 30, with intermittent breaks. The downpour is anticipated to begin in the afternoon and continue until August 30, raising concerns about potential urban flooding in the city.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has indicated that a system of strong monsoon winds is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Sindh. According to the Met official, this system is predicted to deliver 300 to 400mm of rainfall in the Thatta and Badin districts, while Karachi may receive between 150mm and 200mm of rain. As the system moves closer to the region, rainfall is expected to intensify.
