Recent developments in gasoline prices highlight significant increases. Brent crude oil, as reported by international media, has surged by 22 cents, reaching $78.78 per barrel.
Additionally, U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose by 31 cents, closing at $73.72 per barrel, expiring on Monday.
The more active March WTI contract also experienced a 26-cent increase, reaching $73.51. Economic experts attribute these fluctuations to ongoing conflicts, citing the unrelenting Israeli attacks on Gaza and the Houthis' continued assaults on commercial ships in the Red Sea, despite U.S. countermeasures.
This situation has resulted in heightened tensions in European and African crude markets, leading to the premium over the Brent contract reaching its highest level since November in Friday's six-month contract. The petrol market remains influenced by geopolitical events, impacting global crude prices.
