Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has initiated protests along 13 major highways in Karachi in response to high electricity bills, heavy taxation, and the dominance of electric service providers in the city.

The main demonstration is taking place on the National Highway at Malir Kala Board, where JI Karachi Ameer Munim Zafar Khan addressed the crowd.

In his speech, Munim Zafar Khan condemned Israel for its recent missile strike that resulted in the martyrdom of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasarallah, and praised the strength of Hamas, asserting that they had defeated Israel on October 7. He declared that Israel could not withstand the might of Hamas’ fighters, stressing that Israel is attacking innocent Muslims in Gaza, Palestine, and has now broadened its assaults to Lebanon.

He also announced plans for a solidarity march on Faisal Street, scheduled for October 6, to show support for Gaza and Lebanon.
