The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a key weather forecast for Islamabad, predicting partly cloudy skies with chances of hailstorm, thunderstorms, and rain in surrounding areas.
Today, the temperature in Islamabad is expected to reach up to 34°C, according to the Met Office. Meanwhile, rain is likely in parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Some areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may even see heavy rain and hail.
In contrast, Sindh and Balochistan will remain hot and dry, with strong winds blowing in these regions.
The temperatures recorded this morning were 18°C in both Islamabad and Quetta, 27°C in Lahore and Karachi, 20°C in Peshawar, 13°C in Gilgit, 9°C in Murree, and 16°C in Muzaffarabad.
Earlier this week, unexpected heavy rain and hailstorms in Islamabad and nearby areas caused major disruptions. Large hailstones damaged cars, solar panels, and other property.
Meanwhile, heavy rains in Landi Kotal, Torkham, and adjoining areas resulted in flash flooding, leaving freight vehicles stranded and forcing the temporary closure of the Pak-Afghan highway due to strong winds and water accumulation.
