The drama "Namak Haram" generated high anticipation upon its release due to the comeback of Imran Ashraf and Sarah Khan's pairing. It performed well on TRP charts and YouTube views. However, its ending, which failed to meet audience expectations, received criticism. For weeks, viewers eagerly awaited Mureed, the son of a rape victim, to seek justice against Amin Qureshi, portrayed by Babar Ali. Unfortunately, the ending was perceived as stupid, abrupt, and lacking coherence.

In the end, Amin Qureshi easily killed Mureed and went to jail, while Asma, portrayed by Sarah Khan, gave birth to their son and raised him as a single mother, enduring a very sad life surrounded by hallucinations of her deceased husband.
