Many foreign players in Pakistan Super League (PSL) are preparing to leave Pakistan amid Coronavirus worries.
According to sources, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given option to foreign players to withdraw from the game.
England players are ready to leave the league and go back, sources said.
PCB said in a statement that the board asked players to withdraw from the league; any player has the option to do so.
‘Even if a local player does not want to play a match, he is allowed to leave’, said PCB sources.
On the other hand, the PCB has also decided to postpone the Pakistan Cup.
According to sources, the new date for the scheduled Pakistan Cup will be announced in Karachi on March 25.
Earlier, Sindh government made a major decision regarding PSL, saying that the matches will now be played without spectators.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had made a big announcement regarding PSL, saying that the further matches in Karachi will not allow spectators in the ground.
He also said the other matches will take place in closed grounds.
‘We are not banning PSL in these circumstances, no more risks can be taken’, CM Sindh said.
In this regard, the Chief Minister directed Commissioner Karachi to hold talks with PCB and make implement over the decision.
The precautionary decision made to better protect the health of spectators, players, officials & media.”
Moreover, in other countries sports events are being held without audience.
However, many countries have suspended sports, education and mobilization events and festivals.
