On the fourth day of the second Test at Multan Cricket Stadium, England resumed their second innings against Pakistan at 36/2. Ollie Pope (21*) and Joe Root (12*) were on strike as play resumed. However, Pakistan quickly claimed their third wicket when Pope (22) was dismissed.

England faced a challenging task, needing 261 runs to win, while Pakistan required eight wickets to secure victory. Earlier in the match, Pakistan set a 297-run target for England after gaining a solid lead of 296 runs, thanks to Salman Agha's 63 runs in their second innings on day three.

Pakistan had scored 366 runs in their first innings, to which England responded with 291, trailing by 75 runs. Pakistan then added 221 runs in their second innings. Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett started England's second innings but struggled.

Crawley scored only three runs before being dismissed by Mohammad Rizwan, while Duckett fell for a duck after facing just three balls from Sajid Khan.

Sajid Khan's spin played a key role in the first inning. He claimed seven wickets while Noman Ali took three, putting Pakistan in a commanding position as the match headed into its final stages.
