The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new service in Karachi, designed to provide increased convenience to residents by offering at-home services for issuing and renewing national identity cards and other related services. This new initiative is set to begin on January 20.

Initially, three bikers will be deployed in Karachi, while Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas will each have one bike for the service. The fleet is expected to grow, with ten additional bikes to be added in the future. Representatives will carry necessary processing equipment in backpacks, providing citizens with more ease.

For at-home services, there will be an additional charge of Rs1,000, which includes Rs825 for the service and Rs175 for delivery fees. This move is expected to alleviate long waits and queues at NADRA offices, making essential services more accessible for residents.

In other developments, NADRA has announced that its Pak ID website will be shut down in favor of a mobile app. This decision was made following concerns over fraudulent activities, with fake websites exploiting personal information for illicit purposes. The new app aims to streamline services and reduce fraud.

Additionally, the Passport Department has introduced 4-hour passport counters at NADRA Mega Centres across the country. In Karachi, special 24/7 counters have been established at Nazimabad and Siemens Chowrangi in the Site area, offering more flexibility to citizens needing passport-related services.
