Coronavirus: China rubbishes rumored bio-weapon theory

Chinese Ambassador to the United States Cui Tiankai has cautioned against fueling panic and spreading dangerous bioweapon rumors about the Coronavirus’ unknown origins.

Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. said it would be “absolutely crazy” to believe unsubstantiated rumors online while the entire global scientific community that is working day and night on the issue has yet to come a conclusion.

In Russia an increasing number of political commentators have to come to believe that the virus is a U.S. bioweapon ultimately directed at Russia.

The author begins by establishing alleged intent: the virus dealt a blow to the Chinese economy, which weakens Beijing’s negotiating hand in the next round of trade talks to follow the recent signing of the phase one deal between Washington and Beijing.

The prevailing pneumonia outbreak was first reported in the city of Wuhan, central China’s Hubei Province in December. Experts have attributed the outbreak to a novel coronavirus that has since spread across China and abroad.
