The racist attack occurred in Israel linked to the coronavirus outbreak. An Indian-origin Man was badly beaten up by two attackers in Tiberias city of Israel after they called him “Chinese” and kicked him while yelling “Corona, Corona”.

According to the media reports, the 28 years old victim Am-Shalem Singson, from the Bnei Menashe community, from Manipur and Mizoram of India, sustained severe chest injuries and admitted to the Poriya hospital.

The police continue to search for the two suspects based on his description of the incident, the leading Israeli TV Channel 13 reported.

In quoted Am-Shalem Singson as saying, “I told both of the attackers that I was not even Chinese, but rather a Jew from Bnei Menashe community, not that there is any justification for attacking a Chinese guy or anybody else. But they were totally crazed and kicked me hard while yelling, ‘corona! Corona!”

Amid the severity of the coronavirus pandemic has emerged this is not the first time when the people from Northeast are exposed to racial insult, many northeast students have complained about the discrimination for being “Chinese” looking.
