Cold and dry weather is likely to prevail in most parts of the country, while very cold in northern parts and north Balochistan during the next twelve hours.

According to the details,  rain/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in districts of northeast Punjab and Kashmir during morning.

Fog is likely to prevail at a few places of plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning and night hours.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Saturday morning:

Islamabad and Lahore five degree centigrade, Karachi twelve, Peshawar three, Quetta minus six, Gilgit minus three, Murree minus one and Muzaffarabad two degree centigrade.

Weather will remain chill cold and dry in Karachi, the minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 07 degree Celsius today. The situation may remain the same tomorrow.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast weather will remain chill cold and dry in northern areas and northern districts of Balochistan as before.

PMD predicted rain and snowfall in early hours in northern Punjab and Kashmir. Also, fog prevails in parts of Punjab and Sindh.

Fog prevails at Shahrah Lahore including Thokar, Mohalnawaal, Manga Mandi, Phool nagar, jamber, Patogi, Jacobabad, Okara, Sahiwal, Rinalah Khurd, and Harappa.

Rainfall can occur in few areas including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi.

Apart from that, PMD has predicted that weather will remain cold and dry in several districts of Sindh and fog will remain in Sukkur and Larkana.

Also, the weather will remain chill cold and dry in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azaad Kashmir.

The local government had issued an alert yesterday to the authorities to prepare emergency services, machinery and related things to tackle the severe situation. The authorities are also asked to maintain their presence in the next two weeks.

The minimum temperature recorded in the last 24 hours was minus 20 degrees Celsius in Astore and minus 15 degrees Celsius in Kalam.

Note that the number of casualties has reached more than 77 in Azad Kashmir due to avalanche.
