Nine people lost their lives on Thursday after a fire swept through a hospital in southern Taiwan.
According to resource, the blaze in Pingtung County was reported at around 7:40 am, and was put out shortly after 1 pm.
Eight of the victims died after being transported for treatment, while a ninth person was later found dead at the scene.
The fire broke out on the same day Typhoon Krathon made landfall in southern Taiwan, although authorities have not connected the two incidents.
The typhoon caused schools and offices to remain closed for a second day due to strong winds and heavy rains, which have resulted in two deaths and over 100 injuries.
