Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince, Mohammad Bin Salman, has issued an order to halt mosque iftar gatherings in anticipation of Ramadan, expected to span from March 11 to April 9 this year.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has instructed mosque staff not to arrange iftar events within mosque premises or solicit funds for such gatherings. Instead, mosque leaders (imams) and call to prayer announcers (muezzins) will oversee iftar meals in the mosque courtyards to ensure cleanliness.
Furthermore, the directive discourages the capture of photos or videos during prayer times to uphold the sanctity of the environment. Broadcasting prayers on any media platform is also prohibited.
