Dylan Walsh’s son Thomas “Tom” Walsh is being praised as a hero

Thomas “Tom” Walsh, Dylan Walsh’s son, is being hailed as a hero for pulling a driver from the ocean at Inner Harbor.

Tom, a 26-year-old sous chef at Baltimore’s Phillips Seafood, was the bystander who dove into the water and dragged the man to safety, according to a representative for the Superman & Lois actor who plays Superman.

“On behalf of the company and the Phillips family, we are just proud and inspired by Tom’s efforts,” a representative for Phillips.

According to a statement, Tom had already removed the driver from the vehicle when Baltimore City Fire Department came to a rescue call shortly after 4 p.m. at the well-known tourist destination. He and the driver were both taken to a nearby hospital after receiving minor injury treatment.

Jordan Payne, a coworker of Tom’s, was on her way to work when she noticed a crowd gazing into the sea where a white car had just left the harbor, according to The Baltimore Banner. Before Tom dove into the ocean while wearing all of his clothes and swam over to the automobile, she sprinted to the restaurant and called out to her coworkers.

Tom appeared to have attempted to punch through the passenger window in the heroic moment seen on camera by The Banner before standing on the hood and kicking the windscreen. The driver was then delivered to someone waiting on the waterfront after being pushed through the opening.

The driver appeared to be unharmed and was aware, but Payne stated of Tom: “His hand is all hacked up. His knuckles are completely broken.”

Dylan, 59, shares Tom and daughter Joanna Marie, 25, with his first wife Melora Walters, as well as 19-year-old Stella Haven with ex-wife Joanna Going. He also shares two children with Leslie Bourque.
