ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning Asad Umar on Tuesday urged India to come for a “comprehensive dialogue” with Pakistan for a shared future of peace and prosperity.

In a tweet Asad Umar said a “mindset” had developed in India that Pakistan can be “crushed” and there was no need to work out the differences.

“Last three years [have been a] reality check: Pakistan dominated India in kinetic conflict post Balakot (attack), outperformed India in its Covid response and outclassed India on the cricket field,” he tweeted.

The minister was of the view that no re-writing can erase the “shared history” two countries have.

“A shared geographical proximity that cannot be washed away. We should have a comprehensive dialogue for resolving all our differences for a shared future of peace and prosperity. Pakistan is ready. Is India ready?” asked Umar.

A day earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had remarked that it was not a “good idea” to talk about improving relations with India after Sunday’s “thrashing” of the Indian team by Babar Azam and co, in the opening match of T20 World Cup in Dubai.

“I know after last night’s (Sunday) thrashing by Pakistan team in the cricket match its not a very good time to talk about improving relations with India,” PM Imran Khan had said while addressing the Saudi-Pak Investment Forum in Riyadh.

The PM had passed the remarks while mentioning the advantages of investing in Pakistan to the businessmen present at the forum. He had highlighted that Pakistan due to its “strategic location” gives access to the two biggest markets of the world which were India and China.
