Oldest known natural pearl in the world discovered in Abu Dhabi
The oldest known natural pearl in the world has been discovered from an Island in Abu Dhabi.
According to details, Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has announced that the oldest natural pearl is found from Marawah Island.
The ‘Abu Dhabi Pearl’ dates back to nearly 8K years, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s deep economic & cultural history that dates back to the dawn of prehistory, Department of Culture and Tourism said.

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak is Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority said this is one of the most precious pearls.
The pearl will be shown for the first time in the exhibition 10,000 Years of Luxury, opening on 30 October at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Pearl, that archaeologists say is the world’s most ancient, is about 7,500 years-old.
