Couple in Texas breaks the Guinness World Record for oldest marriage

A couple from Austin have broken the Guinness World Record for oldest married couple, with an aggregate age of 211 years.

Charlotte and John Henderson, were married back in 1939.

At more than 211 years, no married couple is older than John and Charlotte Henderson combined.

Charlotte celebrated her 105th birthday and John will celebrate his 107th birthday on Dec. 24.

According to reports, the two got married during the Great Depression and met at the University of Texas in 1934.

John Henderson is also the oldest living former UT football player; he’s attended at least one UT game every year for 84 years.

John attributes their long marriage to living life in moderation and being cordial to each other.
