A hospital located in Mumbai, collaborated with an insurance firm to set a Guinness World Record by vaccinating over 30,000 individuals in one week.

Surana Sethia Hospital, in collaboration with insurance company ICICI Lombard, established a Guinness World Record by registering 30,467 people for COVID-19 immunizations from August 7 to 14. According to the hospital, all of those who registered were vaccinated on the spot.

Hospital CEO, Surana Sethia told the media, “As the pandemic continues to re-emerge in waves, it is most crucial to vaccinate the population.”

“The underprivileged sections of the society are in a disadvantageous position as they do not have the resources and facilities to travel long distances to get themselves and their family members inoculated. That’s why we collaborated with ICICI Lombard for this drive.”

According to the hospital, the vaccine drive lasted 14 days and resulted in 50,000 patients being immunized for free.
