For the third time in history, a unique foul-smelling ‘penis plant’ has flowered in Europe.

Botanists call the plant Amorphophallus decus-silvae the penis plant because of its phallic look.

It’s also known as the ‘corpse flower,’ according to the awful odour it emits when it blooms.

As the botanist said the smell as, “like roadkill, a barnyard, a dirty diaper, very strong, a little bit of mothball smell too.”

The repulsive pong, on the other hand, has a good impact in that it attracts flies and other insects, which subsequently pollinate additional ‘penis plants.’

The plant is generally found on the Indonesian island of Java, but one blossomed lately in a Dutch garden.

The botanical garden of the University of Leiden shared this photo on Instagram: “At long last! Our Penis plant, Amorphophallus decus-silvae, has opened up fully and is blooming. Its scent is also present.”

On the other hand, in a magical marriage of art and nature, artist Sam Van Aken has created a living fairytale tree that blooms in multiple colors and produces 40 different kinds of fruit.

According to media reports, the credit for this goes to Van Aiken, a professor at the University of Sierra Leone, who bought a garden of ancient trees in New York and began transplanting different species into a single tree to save ancient fruit trees. What, five years later, their hard work paid off, resulting in a tree that bears a variety of fruits at different times of the year.

The tree bears forty kinds of fruits including walnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, aloe vera, apricots, peaches, and cherries. Attach which merge after a while.
