Hubco Green opens first EV charging station in Karachi
Hubco Green (Private) Limited (HGL), a subsidiary of Hub Power Holdings Limited (HPHL), achieved a major milestone by inaugurating its first electric vehicle (EV) charging station on Tuesday at Karachi’s Ocean Mall.
Aiming to develop Pakistan’s largest EV charging network, HGL has ambitious plans to establish state-of-the-art EV charging stations across the country. These stations will be strategically located along motorways, highways, urban centers, and popular destinations, such as upscale malls and commercial areas.
The launch of Hubco Green’s EV charging station aligns with Pakistan’s broader efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and dependency on fossil fuels. It also supports the growth of the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) sector in the country.
Speaking at the inauguration, Hubco Green CEO Kamran Kamal expressed optimism about the initiative, stating, “This milestone marks the beginning of our vision to transform the mobility landscape of Pakistan. We aim to create an enabling ecosystem that is environmentally friendly and economically sustainable.”
Vice President Projects at HUBCO, Masood Zafar, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation, adding, “As a company committed to innovation and sustainability, we recognise the importance of creating solutions that leave a lasting impact. This launch is a leap towards a more sustainable future for Pakistan.”
With rising interest from private companies and support through government incentives, Pakistan is well-positioned to become a hub for electric mobility and sustainable energy solutions.
