On 21 December 1984, Pakistan’s most famous actress Mahira Khan was born. The former VJ hails from the city of lights and also completed her early education in this city. She did her O-levels from Foundation Public School at the age of 16. She then moved from Pakistan and acquired her college degree from Santa Monica College situated in the state of California. Mahira, got her admission to the University Of Southern California for her Bachelor’s degree however she never finished it and came back to Pakistan and joined the showbiz industry. Moreover, born in a family of Urdu speaking Pathan the actress is now a well-established name in the industry. She is not only counted among the actresses who are ruling the industry but also listed among the names of most high paying artists.

Early Career:

Mahira began her career as a VJ. In 2008, she switched to another channel and hosted her own show. During the weekly show, she used to host celebrities and play music videos while taking calls from the audience. Afterward, she signed a contract with Shoaib Mansoor for the movie ‘Bol’ and played Ayesha’s supporting role alongside singing star Atif Aslam. However, the same year, she made an agreement for Mehreen Jabbar’s serial Neeyat with co-star Humayun Saeed thereby made her debut in the drama industry.

Career Milestones:

Mahira Khan marked her name in the industry after a blockbuster serial ‘Humsafar’ which gained popularity even across the border. She acted for the leading role alongside co-star Fawad Khan. Mahirah played as a naïve little girl who faced big challenges because of her fate. Furthermore, Sarmad Sultan Khoosat again chooses her as the leading role for his other drama ‘Shehr e Zaat’ which later makes her won several awards. The same year, Mahirah returned to hosting and started a show ‘TUC The Lighter Side Of Life’. Here, she invited many celebrities from the industry and interviewed them while taking calls from the audience. Moreover, her succeeding play was ‘Sadqay Tumharay’ followed by the movie ‘Bin Roye’.

Glimpse Of Her Film Career:

Mahira, followed by the movie Bol appeared in ‘Bin Roye’ and Ho Mann Jahan that made her gain few other titles. All these films proved to be a milestone for her career and assist her in signing a contract for the Bollywood industry with the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan for the movie ‘Raees’. However, Mahirah, couldn’t continue her work in Bollywood due to the increasing tensions between India and Pakistan. Later, she did her appearance in Verna, Maula Jutt, Saat Din Mohobbat In, and Ho Mann Jahan.

A loving mother and a perfect daughter, Mahirah Khan born in a Pathan household. She has one brother named Hassan Khan who is by profession a journalist.
