As the coronavirus pandemic continues to grip the world, the dread virus has made situations grim India as well. Amid these critical circumstances, the Bollywood celebrities have been extending their help for the poor in the entertainment industry.

Earlier the Bollywood superstar Shahid Kapoor, and now Varun Dhawan has reportedly helped the dancers in Bollywood by transferring money into their accounts directly.

According to reports, Raj Surani, a former background dance who works as a song coordinator now, said, “Varun Dhawan has helped the destitute dancers. He has worked with a lot of them in three dance films. Varun Dhawan was very concerned about how the dancers are managing their means. He promised to help them and try and address their problems.”

India Coronavirus Situation

India reported nearly 25,000 new coronavirus infections and its transmission rate is increasing for the first time since March.

The new cases bring the total in the world’s third worst-affected country to 767,296. India’s health ministry said the COVID-19 death toll had risen to 21,129.

India’s infection numbers have skyrocketed since lockdown restrictions were eased. At the same time, testing has ramped up to more than 200,000 samples a day, compared to just a few hundred in March.

Health experts in India say the true extent of the virus’s spread in India is unknown and more testing must be done, given its population of nearly 1.4 billion people.
