Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan gets another big achievement as he becomes the first Indian celebrity whose voice will be used for Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant.
Amitabh Bachchan will lend his voice to Amazon’s Alexa as company expands its presence in the international market.
Amazon announced in a blog post that “voice experience” feature will become available for purchase on Alexa next year.
“The baritone that has enchanted the Indian film industry for over five decades will soon deliver a unique voice experience to the many Indian customers who use Alexa. Yes, you heard that right! Amitabh Bachchan has partnered with Amazon to create a unique celebrity voice experience,”
“It will include popular offerings like jokes, weather, shayaris (poetry), motivational quotes, advice and more,” the firm said.
Bachchan said on Amazon’s blog, “I am excited to create this voice experience,”
“With voice technology, we are building something to engage more effectively with my audience and well-wishers.”
Alexa has first used voice of actor Samuel L. Jackson last year. Same techniques are being used in the partnership with Bachchan. Google has also used a similar approach when it chose musician John Legend’s voice for its limited-time Google Assistant add-on.
