Fashion designer Sharbari Datta found dead at her residence

Fashion designer Sharbari Datta has been found dead inside a bathroom at her home in Kolkata.

She was found dead inside a bathroom at her home located South Kolkata’s Broad Street at around 12:25 am on Friday. Her post-mortem will take place today.

Officials of Kolkata Police headquarters Lalbazar’s homicide branch and local police station arrived at the scene after receiving news. According to the initial investigation, Sharbari Datta appeared to have died due to a sudden cardiac arrest.

However, family claimed that she was not suffering any chronic disease.

Sharbari’s son Amalin Datta reported that he did not see her in the home throughout Thursday. He said, “I had last seen my mother on Wednesday. I hadn’t seen her on Thursday. I thought she was busy and had gone out for work.

Both of us remained so busy that we didn’t get to meet every day. Later, we found her body in the bathroom.”

Sharbari’s fans and renowned names of the entertainment industry expressed condolences for the deceased. Singers Parama Banerjee and Ujjaini Mukherjee, actors Srabonty Chatterjee, Rukmini Maitra and Pujarini Ghosh, theatre personality-director Debesh Chatterjee expressed sorrow over the death.
