Deepika Padukone, the producer and actress of the upcoming Hollywood remake of the Bollywood film ‘The Intern’, made an announcement saying that the role that the late actor Rishi Kapoor was supposed to play in the movie The Intern will now be played by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
It may be recalled that Rishi Kapoor died last year after battling cancer for two years. The legendary actor took his last breath on the morning of April 30 last year at the Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital.
Deepika also shared a poster of the film on her Instagram account, mentioning that it is a remake of the Hollywood hit movie ‘The Intern’. She wrote, “What an absolute honour to be collaborating with one of my most special co-star again!💛
Welcoming @amitabhbachchan to the Indian adaptation of #TheIntern.”

The remake is said to release in the summer of 2022. The film is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Sunir Kheterpal and Deepika Padukone.
