Military Career
Muhammad Aamer was commissioned in the Artillery Regiment of Pakistan Army. He has served on various staff, instructional and command assignments.
He has also served as Director-General Staff Duties at the COAS Secretariat, giving him considerable experience in both GHQ and command positions.
As a Brigadier, he remained the military secretary to President Asif Zardari from 2011-13. As major-general, Muhammad Aamer commanded the 10 Infantry Division in Lahore from 2017-18.
On 11 September 2019, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General. He was appointed as Adjutant General at the GHQ in September 2019.
He is was appointed as Corps Commander XXX in Gujranwala in October 2021. He replaced Lt Gen Asim Munir who was transferred as Quartermaster General (QMG) at GHQ.
