Muhammad Abdul Aziz was commissioned in the Pakistan Army through 75 PMA Long Course Artillery on 13 March 1987.
He has served as Military Secretary (MS) at GHQ Rawalpindi. He had also remained commander of the GOC 8 Infantry Division in Hyderabad.
On November 2020, Lt Gen Muhammad Abdul Aziz was posted as the Commander of Corps IV in Lahore.
On June 2021, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa installed Lt Gen Muhammad Abdul Aziz as Colonel Commandant of Artillery Corps. He replaced Lt Gen Humayun Aziz.
He retired from the armed forces in September 2022.
