Early life and education

Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was born in Swabi located in NWFP (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) on 15th April 1962.

He attended Cadet College Kohat from 1974 to 1979 and received the Certificate of Service, National Cadet Corps.

He completed his law graduation from Khyber Law College, Peshawar University in May 1994 with distinction and was a Gold Medalist/Presidential Award winner.

Muhammad Ibrahim Khan joined the judiciary after being appointed as Additional District & Sessions Judge (AD&SJ) in 1993. During his legal career, he has worked as Judge/Judicial Officer on various posts.

He worked as an Additional District and Sessions Judge (AD&SJ) in Kohat from 1 November 1993 to 1 December 1994. He was transferred to Charsadda and served from 8th December 1994 to 30 April 1995 and worked in the same post in Mansehra in May 1995.

He also served as a section officer of the provincial Law Department in Peshawar for two years from 1st June 1995 to 30th April 1997.

He served as AD&SJ in Charsadda from 5th May 1997 to 12th December 1997 and then transferred to Peshawar where he served from 18th December 1997 to 15th June 1998 and later in Haripur from 23rd June 1998 to 30th May 2002.

He was promoted as District and Sessions Judge (D&SJ) and posted in Shangla from 31 May 2002 to 18 January 2003. He served as a presiding officer of the Labour Court in Haripur for four years from 27 January 2003 to 2 May 2007.

He was appointed as a judge in Anti-Terrorism Court of Abbottabad from 8th May 2007 to 1 December 2008. He remained D&SJ in Dera Ismail Khan from 15th December 2008 to 12th October 2009 and in Hangu from 22nd October 2009 to 31st March 2011.

Ibrahim Khan was posted as judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court in Peshawar from 8th April 2011 to 24th January 2013. He worked as an administrative judge of the accountability court in Peshawar from 18 March 2013 to 17th March 2016. He was D&SJ in Mardan from 18th April to 11 August 2016.

Peshawar High Court

Mr. Ibrahim Khan was elevated as Additional Judge of the Peshawar High Court on 11th August 2016. He was confirmed as Permanent Judge of the Peshawar High Court on 1st June 2018. He will remain a judge till his superannuation on 14th April 2024.

Apart from his legal duties, he has remained a lecturer in leading universities such as the International Islamic University, Islamabad, and Khyber Law College, University of Peshawar.
