Legal Career
Zaheeruddin Kakar is currently serving as a judge of the Balochistan High Court. He started his judicial career as a civil judge in 1989.
He was promoted to the rank of Senior Civil Judge on 3 September 1996. He was subsequently appointed as Additional District and Sessions Judge on 10 November 1996.
On 2 September 2000, he was appointed as Acting District and Sessions Judge in Loralai, and promoted as District and Sessions Judge on 18 November 2005.
He was appointed as Registrar of Balochistan High Court on 2 March 2010. He was relieved from his post of 19 November 2013.
He was appointed as Chairman Balochistan Service Tribunal on 19 November 2013. He served in the position until he was elevated as a judge of the Balochistan High Court.
Balochistan High Court
Zaheeruddin Kakar was elevated as Additional Judge of the Balochistan High Court on 12 August 2016. He took oath the next day on 13 August 2016.
He will remain a judge of the Balochistan High Court till his retirement on 22 April 2025.
He participated in Criminal Law Conference from 18-25 April 2012 in The Hague, Netherlands organized by The Hague Forum focusing specifically on judicial expertise.
He also participated in the conference on Environmental Law in Quetta in 2011, and the International Judicial Conference held from 13-15th April 2012 in Islamabad.
