Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has issued separate orders for rich and poor.
According to the sources, the audit report 2017-18 has been released in which it was suspected that influential customers had been given relieves.
Debts worth over 147 billion 289 crores were not received, as per the audit report.
Consumers of power sectors have not paid bills of almost 116 months.
However, their gas connections are still uninterrupted and they are receiving more gas.
On the other hand, government institutions are responsible to pay the due amount of 56 billion.
An audit officer claimed that poor people get deprived of gas supply if they do not pay bills of two months.
He further added that strict actions will be taken against those officials who will not pay their due amounts.
Earlier, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) issued an urgent statement to clarify that the supply being provided to Karachi Electric (K-Electric) has not been slashed at all.
In recent few days, rumors were afloat that SSGC has decreased gas supply to K-Electric.
Spokesperson SSGC verified to media that consistent and continuous gas is being provided to the power generators and in no way the quantity has been decreased.
He further added that K-Electric has moved a request to SSGC recently in which they stated that they need additional gas to work efficiently.
