Mission of LCCI is to serve the business community: LCCI President

National Defence University visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry

A delegation of National Defence University visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) on Thursday.

A delegation had a well over two hours long meeting with the LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Senior Vice President Ali Hussam Asghar, Vice President Mian Zahid Jawaid Ahmed and Executive Committee Members.

Participants of the meeting asked various question that were briefly answered by the LCCI office-bearers. Major General Asif Ali, Halal-e-Imtiaz (Military) was leading the delegation of National Defence University.

LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh in his address said that mission of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry is to be the finest organization to serve the business community and to conduct its practices in the best possible manner. It is keen to act as a bridge between the business community and policy makers.

He said that LCCI enjoys the status of Pakistan’s first ISO certified Chamber. It has more than 25,000 members who comprise a cross-section of Trade and Industry. LCCI’s vision is to be the best chamber among the SAARC countries through regularly securing growth in business volumes, exports and contribution in tax revenues.

“The premier function of LCCI is policy advocacy. Through its Research and Development Department, the Chamber identifies the issues faced by the business community and their possible solutions with the input of different standing committees related to various sectors. These issues are taken up at the highest forums of Government for their early resolution”, LCCI President added.

LCCI Senior Vice President Ali Hussam Asghar said that Lahore Chamber prepares budget proposals and sends them to government for consideration so that tax anomalies could be rectified and private sector representatives may be encouraged to take new business initiatives.

He said that trade Fairs, Exhibitions and Business Delegations are organized on regular basis to provide an opportunity to members for enhancing their business volumes.

LCCI Vice President Mian Zahid Jawad Ahmad said that Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry has signed a lot of MOUs with national and international organization directly related to trade and other important fields like banking, education, diplomatic affairs etc.
