Facebook and Google have announced that employees will be allowed to keep working from home for the rest of the year.
Both Facebook and Google are going to reopen businesses, but they have given work from home flexibility to the workers.
Facebook has decided to reopen its offices from July 6 as lockdown eases.
Google’s chief executive Sundar Pichai that enhanced safety measures will remain in place, employees who will be asked to come back to the office will come from July.
However, he also said that those who can work from home can do so until the end of the year.
Facebook has also started working on their back-to-work strategies.
“Facebook has taken the next step in its return to work philosophy. Today, we announced anyone who can do their work remotely can choose to do so through the end of the year,” a spokesperson said. “As you can imagine this is an evolving situation as employees and their families make important decisions re return to work.”
The spokesperson added that Facebook is still figuring out which employees should be called to the office.
Note that Facebook was among the first tech companies to adopt the work-from-home strategy. Facebook has also given $1,000 (£807) bonuses to employees for their work-from-home and childcare costs.
