The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued a notification on Tuesday (May 12), the board has given the new assignments to its five grade-21 officers.
According to the details, newly appointed FBR Member (IR-Operations), chief commissioner, Regional Tax Office, Rawalpindi and chief commissioner, (Large Taxpayer’s Unit) are included in those officers.
The Member (IR-Operations) Syed Nadeem Hussain Rizvi, who recently assumed the charge, would now work as Director General, (International Taxes) FBR.
The sources said that Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmad (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) Director General, (International Taxes) FBR has been given new assignment of the FBR Member (IR-Operations).
The FBR had issued 4 notifications and posted and transferred 81 tax officials across the country.
11 officials (BS-20-21) of Pakistan Customs Group, 17 officials (BS-20-21) of Inland Revenue Service, 28 officials (commissioners and additional commissioners), 25 customs officials of Grade 19-20, collectors and chief commissioners were transferred or posted after the notification issued on April 30.
According to the notification, Chief Commissioner, (Large Taxpayer’s Unit) Lahore Dr Ashfaq Ahmad Tunio (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) has been given new assignment as director general, Directorate General of Internal Audit (Inland Revenue), Islamabad.
Qaiser Iqbal (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) Chief Commissioner, Regional Tax Office, Rawalpindi has been given new assignment as chief commissioner Inland Revenue Large Taxpayers’ Unit, Lahore.

After the notification issued by FBR, Asim Majid Khan (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21), Chief Commissioner, Large Taxpayers’ Unit, Lahore was transferred as Director General, (Retail) Federal Board of Revenue (HQ), Islamabad.
Zulfiqar Hussain Khan (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) Director General, Directorate General of Internal Audit (Inland Revenue), Islamabad has been given new task as chief commissioner Inland Revenue Regional Tax Office Rawalpindi.
The official twitter of Federal Board of Revenue wrote that FBR has launched a crackdown against contraband items. The transportation, storage, sale and purchase of contraband items is a punishable crime under Customs Act, 1969.
