As Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed 27 points gained on Wednesday, KSE 100 index crosses 34000 points on third day of the business week. With an increase of 27 points, the market is trading at the level of 34,020.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange market closed 76 points higher at 33,992 yesterday. A total of 261,325,321 shares were traded compared to the trade 216,619,180 shares during the previous day, whereas the value of shares traded during the day stood at Rs9.225 billion as compared to Rs9.362 billion during last trading day.
As many as 341 companies transacted shares in the Stock Market, out of which 181 recorded gain and 131 sustained losses whereas the share price of 29 companies remained unchanged.
On the other hand, Rupee gained strength by 25 paisas against US dollar. In the interbank market, the dollar fell from Rs 159.65 to Rs 159.40. Earlier Pakistani rupee increased by 61 paisa against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Tuesday. According to foreign currency dealers, the local unit appreciated by 0.61 paisa to and currently traded at 159.30 against the greenback in the inter-bank market. On Monday, The United States (US) dollar has registered decline against Pakistani rupees in the interbank as well as the open market.
Last week, the Pakistani rupee registered Rs3.57 appreciation in its value against the US dollar in the interbank market. the value of rupee inclined by Rs 0.42 against US dollar in the interbank market at the start of day’s trading. In the interbank market the US traded at around 158.75 PKR.
