Minister for Industry and Production Hamad Azhar has said that the government has given an industrial package which is being appreciated by the industries and it will boost the domestic production.
According to details, during the joint press conference of Federal Ministers Shibli Faraz, Fakhr Imam and Hamad Azhar, the ongoing wheat and sugar crisis in the country was discussed.
Hamad Azhar has said that off-pack over in the industry has been reduced to 24 hours while additional tariff has also been reduced.
He said that the industrial package given by the government has been appreciated by the industrialists. “Despite the slowdown in international industrial activity, our industries are performing well,” he said. He said that the resumption of industrial activities would also improve the employment situation.
Hamad Azhar said that more than 100 tonnes of imported sugar has reached Karachi port out of which 40,000 tonnes have been released to the Punjab government for supply at controlled rates.
He said that the sugar mills have also assured to start the crushing season with the Punjab government as soon as possible which would also help in bringing down the prices of sugar in the domestic market.
