Finance and Revenue Adviser Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh on Monday appreciated the efforts of the provinces in controlling the prices of wheat through better supplies.
According to the details, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh chaired a meeting of the National Price Monitoring Committee (NPMC) through a video link in Islamabad.
He said directed the provincial governments to take action against hoarders of essential food items to maintain stability in prices.
The meeting was attended by Cabinet Division, provincial governments, Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Utility Stores Corporation, Trade Corporation of Pakistan, Pakistan Customs, ICT Administration, Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar, representatives from Bureau of Statistics, and Ministry of Commerce.
During the meeting, Finance and Revenue Adviser Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh also directed the Logistics Committee, constituted by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), to acquaint him of the supply of wheat/sugar inside the country on regular basis.
