LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has called for convening all Pakistan chambers moot on Strategic Trade Policy Framework (STPF) 2020/25 to make it result-oriented, a statement said.
LCCI president Mian Nauman Kabir said that the consultation on STPF should be a cornerstone of the government’s strategy to overcome the economic challenges.
In this regard, he said, the chambers and sector-specific associations were of key importance.
“[The] policies have never achieved their target during [the] last 74 years because of [the] lack of consultation with the stakeholders,” the LCCI president said, adding that the consultation was imperative to make plans for developing the economy that would help the policymakers evolve an aggressive policy to cope with the challenges.
“The government should immediately convene a meeting of chambers and sector-specific associations, while the LCCI is ready to facilitate this initiative,” he added.
Kabir said that sharing economic plans with the stakeholders would be good for both public and private sectors.
